FATHI HASSAN: SIGNS OF OUR TIMES | 12 November–18 December 2010
"Signs of our Times" is the first major solo show presenting the work of Fathi Hassan over two venues in London, Leighton House Museum and Rose Issa Projects. Born in Cairo in 1957 to Sudanese and Egyptian parents, Fathi Hassan has lived in Italy since 1984.
PARASTOU FOROUHAR | 1 October–6 November 2010
The first UK solo show of the outstanding photographer, installation and multi-media artist Parastou Forouhar. Born in Tehran and based in Germany, Forouhar’s imagery is surprisingly witty, occasionally dark and often humorously macabre.
MONIR FARMANFARMAIAN: RECENT WORKS | 15 October–12 November 2010
In this selection of works dating from 2008–10, Farmanfarmaian continues exploring her fascination with geometrical forms, creating new, exquisite mirror mosaics.

Featuring nine contemporary artists from the Arab world, this is the first collaboration between Rose Issa Projects in London and the new Beirut Exhibition Center and follows the success of “Arabicity” at the Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool, UK, earlier this year.
SUSAN HEFUNA: ANA | 8 July–7 August 2010
In Arabic, "Ana" means "I", "me", and the "self". It suggests taking responsibility, initiative and action in life; being self-reliant and self-aware rather than passive and dependent. Hefuna is a nomadic artist, working between Germany, Egypt and New York City.

Rose Issa Projects is happy to showcase the ’Kesh Angels triptych by Hassan Hajjaj at MENASART Fair, Beirut. In this new series of photographs, Hassan Hajjaj celebrates the biker culture of the young women of Marrakesh – the ‘Kesh Angels.

Six contemporary artists from the Arab world explore their cultural heritage from a unique perspective. “Arabicity” is about representations of the self, projecting and protecting one’s own image and personal iconography.

British-Moroccan artist Hassan Hajjaj captures the unique atmosphere and upbeat rhythm of north-African street iconography with great warmth and humour. In this new solo show he pays tribute to the biker culture of the young women of Marrakesh.
AL QAHIRA: IMAGES OF CAIRO | 20 April - 22 May 2010
“Al Qahira” (“Cairo” in Arabic), is a glimpse of different aspects of life in this ancient and rambling metropolis, as captured by four artists: Nabil Boutros, Susan hefuna, Youssef Nabil and Sabah Naim. “Al Qahira” is a tribute to the city where the artists were born.
